ABYC offers adult sailing lessons in small groups, taught by a Sail Canada certified sailing instructor, during May and June.
Session 1: Saturdays noon – 4:00 pm during May and June (excluding holiday weekends).
Session 2: Sundays noon – 4:00 pm during May and June (excluding holiday weekends). This session will only be offered if Session 1 attendance is filled.
The course will concentrate on CANSail 1 & 2 (previously White Sail l, ll & lll). This is a basic sailing course for new sailors or those with limited sailing experience. Sailors are introduced to the sport and learn the fundamentals while sailing in 420s. The course covers the basic elements of sailing theory (parts of the boat, points of saile) and on-water skills in safety, crewing, steering and seamanship. Instructors are able to teach up to CANSail 3 & 4 for sailors with previous sailing experience.
